My soundbar supports 4K pass through 4K/60hz. How I’m envisioning that this is suppose to work is my Apple TV is sending a video/audio signal to the sync box, which then sends it through the soundbar to the TV, and then the TV returns an audio signal back to the soundbar. I then have a hdmi cable going from the hdmi eARC output on my soundbar to the hdmi eARC port on my TV. I then have a hdmi cable going from the hdmi output on the sync box, to the hdmi input on the soundbar. So I have my Apple TV plugged into the hdmi input on the sync box. Please correct me if I’m wrong but this is how I’m understanding my setup should work in theory. So not too bad, really… because everything we watch is 24/30hz and I can game 2k 60 just fine.īut I look forward to the newer Gen with better bandwidth and time since Gen 1 to learn from their mistakes.Įdit: wanted to add that I’m hoping the new 2.5 version that no one can download right now - includes a fix for the signal issues the Hue Sync has, like a fix that enforces 4:2:0 10b max would make so many problems go away. What did I get out of it? I got to keep 2 of the sync boxes from 4 total where the 1st was the one started with. It’s not that it’s impossible, but that the success rate would be low from manufacturing. They confirmed the box wasn’t designed well enough to accept 4:2:2 12b, which is what the defacto is even though processed video is actually no 4:2:0 10b. spent a total of 4 months working with them ![]() I have had 3 replacements now from Signify, swapped cables, bought new ones, tried different configurations and different ports, different TVs even. So I have ps5 at transfer rate -1 so it doesn’t try 60hz. ![]() I then stop what ever I’m playing / restart and then it’s only 30. I have an intermediary device I can use that tells me the actual signal, it’s 30 unless I reboot the hue sync - then it’s 60 but after a time hdmi resync starts. However for me and others - if I set it to 60 it plays at 30. Most of us, many of us experience complete hdmi resync running at 60hz hdr when it confirms that signal input is accepted by the TV. What you set it to is what it is capable of but not what it is. I have tried everything and wanted to know if someone out there with a similar setup got it to work. Also the Apple TV sometimes turns itself on when trying to do 4K passthrough through my soundbar. I do find it kind of weird that when I run the hdmi test on the Apple TV, it says the connection is unstable, but it doesn’t give me that error when i plug the Apple TV directly to the tv. I don’t want to hook up the soundbar via optical because then I won’t get the best audio. Alternatively, the video/audio/lights only work with the Apple TV when I plug the sync box directly to the eARC port on the TV, but that prevents me from hooking my soundbar to the eARC and having Dolby Atmos. Everything works (video/audio/lights) when I’m playing the Nintendo switch though. I cannot get my lights to sync up with the Apple TV but the video and audio work. My Apple TV is setup to display 4K dolby vision at 4K/60hz. In the Phillips hue app I enabled arc bypass and I have Dolby vision enhanced compatibility on. ![]() All HDMI cables are premium 2.1 cables, and my soundbar supports 4K passthrough at 4K/60hz. I have my Apple TV and Nintendo switch hooked up to ports 2&4 on the sync box, and then I have the sync box hooked up to the HDMI port on my Samsung soundbar, and then I have the soundbar hooked up to the HDMI eARC on my TV. I have the Phillips light strip and sync box, as well as the latest Apple TV 4K, a Nintendo switch, Samsung HW-930C soundbar, and LG class C1 OLED TV. I’m having issues getting my setup to work.
